Kenneth Dart has raised his ownership in Swedish iGaming provider Evolution to 30.02% as of 24 July. The transaction positions the Cayman Islands investor to potentially acquire full control of the company.
Share Acquisition and Holding Structure
Dart executed the purchase through his holding entity Candle Lake Ltd, acquiring 59,798,619 shares. The increased holding has prompted market discussions regarding a potential takeover and a shift toward private ownership.
Dart previously built his portfolio through investments in consumer goods and gaming sectors, notably owning the Solo Cup Company. The recent share acquisition aligns with a broader strategy of consolidating positions in established entertainment firms.
A stake exceeding 30% frequently serves as a precursor to a mandatory takeover bid. Evolution would transition from public trading to private ownership if a formal acquisition offer is submitted to shareholders. Shareholding records were updated following the 24 July transaction.
Further announcements regarding the next steps are pending.
